Custom toolbar

I cannot get Word 2003 toolbar changes to remain after I close my
documents.

If I make toolbar changes to the standard toolbars they do not reappear
when I reopen my documents.

If I create a new custom toolbar and "make the toolbar available to
Normal" the toolbar never reappears and it is not an optional toolbar
with new documents.

If I create a new custom toolbar and "make the toolbar available to"
the current document the toolbar is avaiable but only to that document.

I appreacite your assistance.

Rather than creating toolbars in documents and making them available in
normal, try opening normal.dot first and creating the toolbar directly
in there. Do a search to see how many normal.dot you have and
eliminate all those except the one in the directory listed in Word as
your template directory.
