Customizing Right Mouse Button Menu?

A

Aaron Fox

In Excel 2003, the "Paste Special" option is almost always
available on a right-click context menu. However, I can't find a way in Word
2003 to emulate the same behavior. I've mapped Paste Special to a keyboard
sequence, but I'd really rather have it on the right-click menu. I am
frequently bringing in images and other content to Word documents that I wish
to change format on, and the keyboard slows me way down.

But that brings me to a larger question. Is it possible to customize the
items that appear in the right-click menu in Word (or, in Office 2003 in
general)? I can think of a few other things I'd like to add to the
right-click menu. And, if it's possible, how do you do it?

I've seen other applications add their handles to this menu, but I couldn't
find a darned thing in the Microsoft KB or in Google about actually doing
this customization.

Thanks much to anyone who knows the answer, positive or negative!

Hi Aaron,

In Word, in Tools=>Customize=>Toolbars
select 'Shortcut menus'. That will popup a
small menu bar.

Now switch to the 'Commands' tab in Tools customize
and select under 'Edit' the 'Paste Special' command
and drag it over to the Shortcut menu toolbar,
'Text section' and in that dropdown to the 'Text'
shortcut (context) menu.
