data (mail/contacts) for outlook? (for purposes of backing up)

Hi, I am new to outlook and am trying to figure out where it stores
its data so that i can back it up. Any help would be greatly
appreciated!

This took me a while to figure out, so I hope this helps!

Most of the information is in a file called outlook.pst
This file is located in C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local
Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\

Just for fun, they put the rest of the stuff in C:\Documents and
Settings\<username>\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\

After a reformat I find it easiest to open Outlook once to get all the
account info set up, close Outlook, and replace all the files. Then when
you start it you should be pretty much back to normal.
