Data merge manager

When we open a Word document on a MAC (version 2004) we
always have the data merge manager screen opening. The
original Word document was made with a PC on version XP
and contain user field.

How can we cancel the automatic data merge manager screen
opening ?

That document is somehow being recognised as a Mail Merge Main Document.

Read the Help Topic "I get a message saying that my data file is a
data-merge main document."
