Dbl-Click & Drag to select text

One text editing feature SERiously missing from OneNote is the ability to
dbl-click a work (which highlights it) then drag your selection
forward/backward to select a range of text. I realize onenote is not a true
word-processor as such, but really, even Notepad has this feature.
Still a great product all-in-all though.

I'm not sure what you're asking.

You can double-click to select a word, and triple-click
to select a paragraph. You don't need to multiple-click
first in order to select multiple lines of text. In both
Word and ON you just click (once) anywhere, then drag to
select.

To clarify, say i want to select five words that all in a row. I can (in
other apps) dbl-click the first word, then just drag over the other four
words and highlight them all. and not the rest of the para.
I know you can start a selection at the beginning of the first word ansd
drag across them all, but i find it easier with the dbl-click, because then
you dont have to be as pixel-accurate.

Good suggestion, I'll make sure that gets forwarded along for the wish
list.

OK, that leads into a question that's been puzzling me for years. I can
single-click to move the cursor, double-click to select the word, or
triple-click to select an entire paragraph. What happened to selecting
a =sentence= before going all the way to selecting the paragraph?

A "sentence" is not nearly as well defiend as those other things. Does a
period end a sentence, like i.e. a list, etc. or abbrev. in the middle? :)

We didn't develop sentence breaking untl the grammar checker came along, and
the behavior of single/double/triple click was alreayd established.

Those three are all well defined, whereas a sentence is open to
interpretation. For example, does a period always end a sentence, i.e. Word
supports lists, etc. or abbrev. in the middle, so? :) You can imagine
harder examples.

We didn't develop sentence breaking until the grammar checker came along,
and by then the behavior of single/double/triple click had been decided by
earlier versions of Word.

Understood, Chris, and thanks.
