Deactivate/disable/hide projects?

I have old project plans that are stored on the server for reference. Is
there any way to make these projects not show up when viewing resource
allocations?

Thanks

I'll assume that you are viewing resource allocations in the "View resource
assignments" section of the Resource Center in PWA. The easiest way I have
found to hide completed task assignments is to click the Custom Filter.
button and create a filter that shows % Work Complete is less than 100. You
can also select the "Autofilter" checkbox, select the Autofilter drop-down
arrow for the % Work Complete field, and set the Autofilter as "less than
100." The disadvantage of either method is that both the Filter and the
Autofilter will disappear when you navigate away from the Resource Center
page, and then return to it again. Until we can actually save Filters in a
future version of PWA, the present method is laborious, but better than
nothing. Hope this helps.

Hi Dale,

That's not really what I'm looking for. I have old project plans that have
resources allocated over the next few weeks. These project plans need to be
updated. I don't want to delete them off the server but that seems to be the
only way to remove their resource allocations from the server. I want to
remove the resource allocations because at this time they're not valid.
However I don't want to remove or radically alter the project plan.

Basically I'm looking for a way to tell Project Server to ignore resource
allocations for particular projects. Like an "Unpublish Assignments" :)

There is no easy way to remove published assignments. The choices seem to
be:
1) Individual uses hide function to remove
2) administrator removes all published assignmnts for selected resource
(this messes up other projects)

The thing to remember for future is that you do not have to publish all
assignments, you can selectively publish data, which should resolve your
concerns
