Decimal Tab

I want to create a document with columns that I will just tab to and
insert data. However, one of the columns will contain decimal numbers so
I want to use a decimal tab for that one. It is the third column out of
four. I can't figure out how to get that to work. Any help would be
appreciated.

Select the column cell, apply the left alignment and insert the decimal tab
where you need it (Inser > Tabs). That is it! Done!

It sounds to me like you are talking about a Table. I don't have a
Table--just a document with columns created by tabbing over. I want one
of those tab stops to be a decimal tab. Is that possible? I've gotten
around this by using the Courier font so that I can line things up
manually by backspacing using regular tabs, but it doesn't look very good.

Thanks,

Never mind. I figured it out. I can get the result I want by manually
setting the tabs using Format|Tabs.

Decimal tab stops behave the same as any other tab stop. In table cells
you don't have to add a tab character, though; Word deals with that
automatically.
