Default font color

The default color for most of my applications has turned to an "army green".
The text of this post for example is "green". In MS Word the "Automatic"
color is "green". How do I set or change the default font color?

In Word Format->Font->select color->press Make Default (lower left hand
corner).

Yes that will change my default color in Word to black. But the "Automatic"
color will still be green and other general text like this post will still be
green.
