Default task priority and task creation date

2 usability questions:

1. Is there a way to set any new tasks added to the project to a default
value other than 500? I like to have new tasks as priority 1 as way for me
to know that they have not be set against other tasks.
2. Does project track the actual date a task was created somewhere? Is
there a way to write a script or something to do that, or do I just need to
manually enter it into a custom field (Text1, for example)? I want to know
the history of when a task was added to the project to help identify the
newest added features or requests for the project.

Hi Andy,

There is good news and there is bad news.
For Q1 the answer is soory, no way.

For Q2: The "Created" field is there for the taking!
