Defining Terms

Any one to explain what it means by the term
1. suite
2. switch (noun) -when working with fields, a special instruction that
causes a specific action to occur (in this sense)
I appreciate if explanations are supported with examples.

The definition of suite depends upon context. Broadly, a hotel suite
consists of multiple rooms beyond the normal room+bath, such as
bedroom+living room + kitchen + bath, or it might have multiple bedroom.

In computerese, it is a collection of [usually related] programs from the
same company. In MS Office Standard, a suite would be Word + Excel + Outlook
+ PowerPoint.

Switches are used to modify the display of field codes in Word. The field
code:

{ =5280 }

contains no switches. It will display as 5280. If you add a numeric
formatting switch:

{ =5280 \# #,}

this one now displays as 5,280 (i.e., a comma was added). If we divide that
number by 3.25 and use \# #.00, a decimal point and results out to 2 places
would be used:

{ =5280/3.25 \# #,.00 }

which would now display as 1,624.62

I hope this helps...
