Delete key not functional in Word

User selects a word and presses delete key.
The bottom left displays "Delete block"? No (Yes)
Could this have been a macro? How do I delete it or reset
defaults to make the key work?

On the General tab of the Tools > Options dialog box, clear the
WordPerfect options.
