Delete page break

I have a page break that I cannot delete. I was sent the file so I don't know how it was created. Could it be protected? Normally I put the doc in Normal view and manually delete it. I created a new page break and deleted it just to make sure. Something particular about this break. Thanks

The paragraph below the page break is probably formatted with "Page
break before". Highlight the paragraph below the page break, click on
Format | Paragraph | Line and Page Breaks, and uncheck the "Page break
before" box.

Thank you but the page break before was not checked. Only the winow/orphan control was checked

If the document is protected, you should be able to click on Tools |
Unprotect Document (if it isn't protected, then Unprotect is not a
choice on the Tools menu), then see if you can delete the page break.
Does that work? If not, try copying all of the text (Ctrl+A) and
pasting it into a new document, then see if you can delete the page
break in the new document. Does that work?
