Delete with out delete folder

Is there any way to delete an email item and have it permanently deleted
without having it first go to the deleted items folder. I am aware that I
can have the deleted items folder cleared on exit but do not want to do
that.

Hard delete the item (hold down the Shift key when deleting the item).
