I am having the issue of the Application data folder being a hidden file so
that it won't let me access what's inside.
I can find the folder in a search but not browse into it in any window. I
could go to the properties tab after finding it on search and change the
checkbox for hidden file - but I don't want to mess my system up. I don't
know why the default marking was hidden.
Is it safe to uncheck this (what about all its subfolders)?
The same goes for the area the original templates created by the office
programs. It is a hidden file at C:\Program Files\Microsoft
Office\Templates\1033.
I want to reorganize and delete templates I downloaded from Office online
but I don't want to mess up the natural settings or cause issues within my
system.
Go to Folder Options in the Control Panel, View tab, check Show hidden files and
folders.
The templates you have created are in a folder similar to this:
C:\Documents and Settings\<<user>>\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates.
Vista
C:\Users\<<user>>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates
