Detailed Gantt missing

Hello,

It seems that I am missing the Detailed Gantt view in project. Can someone
help me switch this back on? It seems that I only have Gantt view, not
detailed Gantt which shows the critical path.

Is this some kind of configuration or install error. I am running
MS-project 2003.

Hi Tina,

Open the project in question. Go to Tools > Organizer, and click on the
Views tab. Does the Detail Gantt show on the left side (Global.mpt)?
If so, click the Copy >> button to copy it back to the project file.

If it is not in the Global.MPT it is possible it was deleted from
Project. You may try Help > Detect and Repair to try to repair the
Global.mpt file. If that doesn't work, exit Project, find all
occurrences of Global.mpt. Rename to OldGlobal.mpt and re-launch
Project. Project should create a new Global MPT.

An alternative to renaming the Global is to create a new file based upon
one of the other templates that usually comes with Project and copy the
Detail Gantt View back to Global.MPT.

I hope one of these options works for you. Let us know how you get

As an alternative to the Detailed Gantt, you can run the Gantt Chart
Wizard (toolbar button over near the right end of the Standard toolbar)
and select the CP option, then finish running the wizard.

Thanks for all the tips.

I have tried all of them, but none have worked. The detailed Gantt is still
missing, not in the Global.mpt

I though of Davegb's suggestion before I posted, but wanted to fix the issue
(who knows what else is missing). This came up as I was giving some training
on Project use here to other PMs, so my installation is broken. I will try a
reinstall from scratch next, to see if that helps.

Reinstall didn't work. Our desktop team will look at it tomorrow..

Our desktop guru fixed it. I was sitting with him, but neither of us could
figure out how he did it. (what keystrokes)

He managed to access a Global.mpt that contained the detailed gantt at the
same time as my Global.mpt and copied the detailed gantt using the organizer
in MS-project.
