detect the status of Groove with C#

Hi,

We using Groove to synchronize files. The files are opende / edit by an
own application. When the file is opened there is test if the user can
manipulated the file - that is if no other user is editing the file. If
it's allowed then the application place a marker so other users aren't
allowed to changed it. It is important that then this change of file is
synchronize too the other users.

Now the question:
Can we detect if Groove is On-line with C# /VB.net code. And if so,
what is the code or where to find an example (and yes i have downloaded
the SDK and the GWS_V12_Helpers.

If so, than we can inform (or stronger - disallow) the user that the
file can only be opened if he/she is online.
It easy to detect if there's an internet connection, but in Groove you
have an option to set it offline.

Thanks for any help with this.

Hi Race Eend -

As you've already discovered, Groove does not expose the online/offline
status. I think this is deliberate rather than an oversight since Groove does
a great deal to make sure that the everyone remains in sync.

If you want a locking files tool, then I think the Sharepoint files tool
might do what you want though I'm not sure about programmatic access to the
locking information. Failing that, straight Sharepoint will do it at some
cost in $$ and flexibility compared with Groove.

Mark,

Thanks for the answer, I afraid that it wasn't possible.
The thought of use the Sharepoint files tool looks more promising than
I though at first glance. I will investigate.

Thanks for the help.
