Differences 2000 & 2002??

Ivor Problem

We are still having compatibility problems with different versions of
Publisher e.g. 2000 and 2002. We have ditched the Pub 97 version!!
The problem is that some members of our staff work at home on newer
versions. Are there any great improvements/differences between 2000 and
2002? I know that the msg always appears about some features may be lost
esp. formatting ones when a save as.... option is selected.
I am thinking that it might be an easier solution to ensure that all work is
done in Pub2k. So ... can two versions of Publisher be installed on one
machine without any conflicts?
Thanks - in anticipation - of your replies

Yes. But there are even greater improvements between Publisher 2000 and
2003.

Some formatting is nearly always lost or altered.

If your employees are anything like me, then you might have a sudden flurry
of resignations at this. Publisher 2002 and 2003 are a much more pleasant
environment to work in than 2000. It's like being sent to work on a
warehouse floor from working in the nicest cubicle in the building.

They can. But a better solution would be to update your organisation to
Publisher 2003. Publisher 2002 and 2003 can open each other's files without
having to save down, and there is very little (dare I say that there is
none?) formatting loss.

WoW!!! I can't justify those prices when we have to deal with up to 30
machines and the folks are just using Publisher as a glorified word
processor with lovely boxes of text etc.

Then may I suggest training them to use Publisher properly and effectively.
Or is that how you see Publisher? A glorified word processor?
How will you be getting them copies of Publisher 2000 to use at home? Will
you be copying your current media and sending it to them, or making them buy
it?

Training - as usual - is the issue. Might be easier to use what we have and
train them to use save as....
