disappearing newsgroups

I just upgraded to Office 2003. I wanted to use Outook as my newsreader. I
followed the instructions to add the news button to the Go menu. The first
time it worked fine. The next time I tried to get to my newsgroups, the
news button had disappeared from the Go menu, and it has also disappeared
from the box where it allows me to customize my menus. According to the
Microsoft help, the only way to access newsgroups is through the Go menu.
Can anyone tell me what happened to the news button? More simply, is there
any other way to access my newsgroups in the new Outlook?

OUtlook uses Outlook Express for newsgroups - always has, always will (or
your preferred news reader such as Agent or Gravity). The loss of the News
button can be remedied by setting OE as the default news reader under
Control Panel, Internet Options, Programs. When OE opens, do NOT set it to
be the default - select "no" if it asks. This should restore the news
button in Outlook. If it does not, right click on the toolbar and select
Toolbars, then Reset.
