disappearing pictures

I have a document that I have pasted pictures in. When I scroll up or down a
page in MS Word 2003, the pictures disappear, or part of them that leaves the
viewing area. If I try moving any one of them, they reappear completely. I
have checked all of my settings and have even tried compressing the pictures
in the document. Any suggestions?

Try reducing the hardware acceleration setting in Start | Control Panel
| Display | Advanced | Troubleshooting.

I tried that and works but now I am not able to play my games under that
setting. I will have to go back and change it all the time. any other fix?
