how can I display one line at a time in a multiple line slide

Open the "Custom Animation" Task Pane
Click in the bulleted list text box
Click on "Add Effect"
Choose one of the entrance effects
You can also select each line of text and add a different
effect to each one.
You can go to the next line of text by mouse click.
There are numerous options here that you can play around
with.
