Display working days only as day heading in calendar view (MS Project2003)

Hi there,

I have a question about the calendar view of a project. Currently,
when in calendar view, in the 'Timescale' menu, if I change the 'Show
week with' option to '5 days', and choose day number index (D1, D2,
D3...) as the display for the Top Row (header), it will still count
the non-working days. I did verify that my project calendar has the
correct days marked as working days.

For example, if 1/1/2008 is the start date of my project, in the
calendar view, I'll see 'D-1' as the header for 12/31/2007, 'D1' for
1/1, 'D2' for 1/2...'D4' for 1/4, then 'D7' for 1/7.

Is there a way for the header to count only working days? Meaning in
the above example, 1/7 would have a header of 'D5', not 'D7'. It does
not have to be in the 'D#' format, as long as it shows day number and
only count working days.

Any pointers are greatly appreciated.

Hello planthefun,

As Rod noted, sorry, no. Project will always count calendar days in
the format of the both the calendar view and the gantt chart view.
Even if Sunday and Saturday are non-working days, nonetheless they are
days in the calendar.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Julie,

Thank you for the reply. I guess I'm out of luck on this one. I
wonder if a developer can find a way to write a VBA or Macro for
it...but anyways, not worth that much effort for this.

Thanks again for your time.

p.s. You said 'As Rod noted', but I didn't see a reply from Rod. Am I
looking at wrong places?

Hello JVan,

You're welcome for the assistance and thanks for the feedback. In my
newsreader (Windows Live Mail) I see a reply to your question from
fellow MVP, Rod Gill on 1/29/08. The newsgroup servers have been a
bit unpredictable lately so it's possible the connection between your
question and Rod's answer went astray.
