Distribution List

Hello
I want to create a distribution list in Outlook 2003 with contacts that I
have on a spreadsheet.
This is what I know.
In Outlook I click File > IMPORT FROM ANOTHER PROGRAM OR FILE, >Browse for
the file, choose Contacts for the destination and done.
But the trouble is it will throw it all in with all my other contacts.
From what I can see in Help, I then have to create the distribution list and
go into contacts to pick them off one by one into that list. Which will take
a while and I can't be sure that I may leave any behind or take any that
don't belong to the new list.
Can someone please tell me how I can avoid mixing the Excel email list with
the existing contacts in Outlook?
I hope someone can help as it it getting urgent now.
Thanks
J

You can't. You cannot import into a DL.
You can only import into a Contacts Folder, then use those Contacts to make
your DL.
If you don't want them in with the rest of your Contacts, just create a
separate Contacts subfolder for this task.

Thanks for your reply.
Ok, that explains it, re DL.
But I must be doing something wrong because I once created a subfolder in
Contacts and it's there but when I click TO or click on Address book, it
doesn't show. Or is there something I need to do when I use it for email?
