Does Outlook 2000 Contacts "find' the email address field?

You've made several posts. I've replied to all. You seem not to be seeing
the replies where I asked you to troubleshoot what else might be wrong with
your installation. I'll repeat here I asked you to do:
1. Verify that your Address Book Service is working correctly. (i.e., just
open your address book and see if everything appears there as it should).
2. Use Field Chooser to add the Email field to a list view of your Contacts
Folder (e.g., Phone List). Do you see the email addresses?

Thanks for the response. The Advanced Find doesn't seem to recognize
the
email field in the Contact forms. I have been looking for the "Type
to
Find a
Contact" field, but haven't yet. Could you point specifically where
to
find
it? It isn't listed in the Help File that I could find, either.

Why doesn't the email field in Contacts of Outlook 2000 show up

In Outlook 2000 the Contacts folder has many fields: name,
address,
company, etc. If I want to find information for one of those
fields, I
go
to the top of the screen to "Find" and it will search for it.
However,
if
I have a contact form for which I don't have a name, but I do
have an
email address filled out in the email address field of the form,
it
won't
find it. Thanks.

Russ,

Here is what finally worked, though I don't know why. I uninstalled and
reinstalled Outlook2000 and now the email field can be "found" through the
"find" button at the top of the Contact screen. Thanks for all your help in
processing me through this. Jerry

OK. Found an IMO installation. It should also work. The only difference
is
that it invokes the Windows Address Book engine to display your hits
rather
than filtering your Contacts Folder.

Initially I did it the way you just suggested, but when that didn't
work,
I
tried to do it through the Advanced Find. I don't know if my Address
Book
is
functioning completely, but it does do regular functions from what I
can
tell--at least in using the Inbox and Contact form to send E-mails. I
am
using the IMO mode of Outlook 2000. Would it be better to use the CW
approach? Thanks.

You may be restricting your search too much.
I go to the Contacts Folder > Find > Look For: > type in an email
address.
Any Contact with that email address or any portion thereof is
returned.
Always has in every version.
Is your Outlook Address Book functioning correctly?
Maybe you aren't using Outlook. Are you using IMO mode of Outlook
2000?
