double contraint task

i there a way to have ms project automatically recalculate task units on
tasks with SS and FF dependencies when duration changes? eg.

task A: go fish in lake
task B: collect fish
task C: prepare fish for dinner

task D: oversee whole fising

my task A,B,C are dependent on finish - start.
Task D has a dependency SS on task A and FF on task C.

whenever task C finished later than planned i need to have task D
automatically reschedule the end date the same as task C, still leaving
the startdate SS on task A.

whenever i tried this now in project (set the double dependency) my
whole task D shifts date, leaving the amount of work, units and duration
the same.

I think what you need is a Hammock task where the start date of D is
linked to the start of the A and the finish of D is linked to the finish
of C. You can Google for how to do this in Project. Briefly, you use
cliboard to select/copy start of A and paste/link into start of D, and
select/copy end of C and paste/link to finish of D.

As Jim and Rob have said. Note the dependencies don't state when a
successor task WILL start or finish, they state when that task CAN start or
finish, a whole different kettle of fish. A SS link says the successor task
can start no earlier than the start of the predecessor - that's not to say
it might not start later. Your fishing supervisor might arrive at the lake
with the fisherman or he might rendezvous with him later but there's no
reason for him to come earlier as there's nothing going on for him to
supervise. The arrival time of the fisherman controls the earliest needed
arrival time of the supervisor. The hammock task strategy that the others
have suggested sayd that the arrival time of the fisherman determines when
the supervisor WILL be scheduled to arrive.
