Downgrading from Outlook 2003 to Outlook 2002

I need to downgrade one of our users from Outlook 2003 to Outlook 2002, to
try to solve issues with an iPAQ PDA. The HP people are telling me to intall
Outlook 2002, as the iPAQ shipped with it and there may be issues with 2003
(I suspect that they haven't tested the iPAQs with the latest version of
Outlook). The problem I am having is that Outlook 2003 seems to be leaving
files/info behind when I uninstall it, so that when I install Outlook 2002 it
will not work. When I do a "test account setting" in the email account set
up, everything works fine. When I do a "send and receive" I get an error and
no mail comes in. When I reinstall Outlook 2003, all of the settings are
still there (I don't need to set up an account or point Outlook to the pst
file) and the test messages from Outlook 2002 then come in. Is there any way
for me to completely remove all reference to Outlook 2003, so that the system
believes that there has never been Outlook installed before? I have looked at
the system restore points and they do not go back far enough for me to
restore the system to before the point that I installed Office 2003.
