download msword doc

Hi folks,
I'm using FP2002. I want people to be able to download a
word doc instead of a pdf from a web site. Whats the
easiest way to set that up and are there reasons why I
shouldn't use the word doc?

Thanks,

Julie

Only way they can download it is to put some text next to it that says "Right Click and choose Save As" if you actually want them to save it to their computers. If you just want them to open it up then just a regular link will work fine.

Only reason NOT to use Word is that not everyone HAS word. But almost everyone has (or will get) Acrobat Reader because it's free.

Also, if you have a word doc and you don't want it to be modified, be sure to protdct it as a form and then save it and upload it. That way people won't be able to change your documents without the password.

Mr B.

You can view a Word Doc using WordPad. MS also makes available a Word document viewer application.
