Duplicate Outlook emails

Hi, I'm hoping someone can help me here. I'm running Outlook Express version 6.00 2800. 1123. Last week I started receiving multiple duplicates of my emails. I had 4 emails in my inbox but each one was duplicated numeorus times. Each had the same date and time stamp as the original.

I've never had a problem with Outlook Express so I'm stumped as to what to do. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, were you able to correct it and how.

Just a thought. Check your mail rules TOOLS - RULES & ALERTS to see if
something in there is duplicating your emails.

this could also be a server issue and may resolve itself.

Hi Carleen,
I too am having this same problem, I have posted it here a number of
times, but it has not been resolved. In fact I posted it again this
afternoon.

If I use Outlook Express or the grand kids use IncrediMail, there are
no duplicates. I think if it was a server problem, then the
duplication problem would happen with OE too. Sorry I can't be of
help, but maybe by answering your post, I may generate some interest
in this problem.

I am having the same problem i dont think it is a server
problem since i have 2 computers and one outlook
duplicates the emails but the outlook in the other
computer doesnot if there is anybody who can help us solve
this problem your help will be appreciated.

I've heard of this problem before and this may be a virus that is causing it. Some people report getting multiple emails, but only for files with attachments. I understand McAfee doesn't help. If it is a virus you may have to try Norton or call Microsoft. Maybe a possibility?

Are you using rules? If so, add a stop processing to each rule.

I too am getting multiples, but they seem to be only system generated ones
from places like ebay and paypal. In addition rules that USED to move
messages to other folders based upon the address now copy them instead
giving me even more multiples! - I haven't changed the rules.

I am using Outlook 2000 SP-3. Yesterday I was not experiencing the problem, but today, every email message that I receive is being duplicated. It doesn't seem to matter who or where the email originated, they are all being duplivated. I, too, have searched for an answer and have yet to locate one. I hope we find an answer soon, this is getting utterly ridiculous.
