duplicate reminders

I am running XP Pro on both my work and home PC's. I have been using active
sync to sync my smart phone with Outlook (Office 2007 not sure which version)
at work for quite some time.
I recently purchased Office Pro 2007 for home and began syncing with this
'home' PC too. I have been noticing that when my reminders show up (for
appointments) they are often duplicated.
Also, annoying is the fact that when the reminders pop up I 'dismiss' them,
and within minutes they pop up again. Is there a setting I need to change?
What's causing this? For example- there is one that poped up a few minutes
ago for an appointment in 5 day, my reminder is set for 5 minutes before
start. It has now poped up 3 times while writting this.
Please help!

Yes, I tried that and thought it worked until this morning when I got another
duplicate reminder.

Did you try restarting Outlook with the /cleanreminders switch?
See http://www.outlook-tips.net/beginner/switches.htm if you need help using
switches.

The link says to use the path> Outlook /cleanreminders another similar post I
saw says to use Outllo.exe /cleanreminders. I've used both now, and still get
duplicate reminders simultaneously and there is only one entry in the
calendar. Still stumped!

Try displaying your calendar in a table view and then adding the Reminders
column to the table. Group by that column so all entries with reminders are
collected together (so you can see them easier) and see if you can locate the
errant entry.

Brian- Sorry, Ican't figure out how to do what you are suggesting. Another
annoying problem is that I get reminders every 5 minutes. I've tried to
change it to 15 minutes and it goes back to 5 minute reminders.

A table view is one like "By Category". Use the Field Chooser to add the
Reminder field to the column header line. See "Add or remove fields" in Help.
Another
annoying problem is that I get reminders every 5 minutes. I've tried to
change it to 15 minutes and it goes back to 5 minute reminders.

This seems to indicate that Outlook isn't exiting properly when you close it.
Start Outlook once in safe mode (hold Ctrl when you start Outlook), change the
value, then close Outlook, using Task Manager to make sure it's gone by seeing
that there are no OUTLOOK.EXE processes on the Processes table. Wait a
moment, then restart Outlook. Does the value reflect the change or does it
revert?

Okay, I finally got that done and did not find any duplicates or other
errors. I am trying the cleansniff command as I saw in another post. We'll
see what happens now!
