Duration

DB

I would like to enter estimated hours to perform a task
for resource load leveling, but also include the overall
time to perform the task with wait time so MS Project can
set the start and end dates based on dependencies. For
example, Task 1 will take Person A; 2 hours to actually do
the work. However it will take 2 days to get it done
waiting on phone calls and responses. I would like to see
the resource loading on 2 hours, not 2 days, and I'd like
to see MS Project show start and end dates based on 2
days. Any idea how I do this?

Hi,

Put 2d as your duration and after assigning your resource, edit the work to
be 2h. This may well change the duration so:

Select Window, Split.
Select the task in the top Gantt chart then change the duration back to 2w.
Set the task type to fixed duration, then reset work to 2h
Now you should end up with what you want.
