durations

Help Please...

When I enter durations the task bar will add one day. For instance if I
enter a task that takes two days and starts on monday it will span from
monday to wednesday. I have checked the working time and it is set on a
default of a 10 hour day starting @ 8:00 AM. Any ideas on what I'm doing
wrong.

Check to see what the working time calendar is showing
(Tools/ChangeWorkingTime). If the Hours per day is changed but the calendar
isn't, the sort of thing you're observing can result. For example, The
workday is 8 to 5, default standard calendar, but you change the hours per
day to 10 hours. A task that is entered as "2 Days" will take 20 hours.
Starting Monday at 8am, 8 hours is done by Mon at 5, 16 hours is done by
Tues at 5, and 20 hours is done by Wed noontime. Go to your View Options
and select a view type that includes the time and I'll bet you dollars to
donuts those are the times you'll see on the task's start and finish dates.
