e-mail merge has too much extra code

I'm doing an e-mail merge for a list to outlook. But after I open the html
document in Word there is so much extra code added to it that the file size
triples by the time I send the email out.

Does anyone know how I can set the e-mail merge to merge an "optimized" html
document to Outlook without all this extra code?

You can "slim it down" using the settings in Tools/Options/General/Email
