E-Mail problem

When I click on an email address the computer starts
openning ie windows until it times out. When you look at
the address in the many ie windows, it has the email
address listed.

Help is going on?

Go to control panel, internet options, programs, and make sure Outlook is
listed as your default mail program.

I checked; Outlook is the default mail program. Note, when
I clicked on the Reply(E-mail) button on this form. The
program did the same thing started opening ie windows. I
had checked for viruses and worms, everything checked out
okay. Any other ideals and reccommendations.
