Earned Value calculation by Physical % complete ...

I have set a project schedule in Project2003. While setting up the schedule,
the default for Earned value calculation was "% complete". Later, I realized
that I need to use "Physical % Complete" option and hence selected all taks
and changed task information Advanced tab, EV calaculation method to
"Physical % complete". Also manually changed values in Physical % column of
Task sheet. But when I look up the Earned value canned report the new
calculated earned value is not available.

Can someone help me understand why?

Physical % Complete
