Easy resource/user question

This one should be a breeze......heck i solved it myself once! I have a user
that uploaded a project into PServer last week. The upload took the local
resources and imported them......no problem. Thing is now that there have
been AD accounts created for these resources and they want to login.

Well I just want ot turn those resources into users.......so i edit details
in resource center. Check the checkbox for "Resource can logon to Project
Server", then add in the email address, then click radio button for Windows
Authentication using windows account, then add in the user account in the
box <domain>\<username>, set sec categories and global security and say
save.......

BUT then i get the evil red text of "The resource account is already in use.
If you want to use Windows or Forms Authentication, you must select a unique
windows account or a unique MembershipProvider user account respectively"

now I KNOW that i solved this problem a week and a bit ago. I remember that
it was a few step process to allow this change to go through. I did about 5
accounts.......but i can't remember what i DID!!!

Can anyone help out? I just want to change "resources" into "users"

.......i jsut know there is a faq on this somewhere

I think it has something to do with checking the resource out.........which
i cannot remember how or where to do.

Actually let me put this on hold.........lookos like someone loaded in a
bunch of generic named resources with AD associations.
