Editing Attachments and saving the file

I am trying to correct a problem I am experiencing with a
system. The user can not attach, Open, Edit, then save
the attachment and send it without word trying to save the
attachement back to its original directory.

I manage 30 machines (barely) and this is the only one
doing this. I have installed all the updates and check
the settings. I can only see that I am being blind about
this and am missing something simple. After the last MSO
update, her system went back to what it was expected to
do. Then, overnight it seemed, her system went back to
its old ways.
