Editing Slides

When trying to select test for editing I find that the whole slide is
selected as an object. There is no way to ungroup to edit text. Do I have
to start over? Thanks

Did you create the slides?
Are the text boxes and other objects grouped?
Are they editable text boxes or is the entire slide a .jpg image?

Yes, I did create the slides and you are correct that the entire slide is
now a .jpg image. Thanks for the insight, but what do I do differently to
correct and/or avoid in the future? Many thanks for your help.

I'd be really surprised if you created slides, saved the file, and then
everything had become a JPG the next time you opened the file. So did
you perhaps save all the slides in your presentation as images and then
reinsert those images into PPT? That would explain why everything on the
slide is in an image. Do you have the original presentation you can go
back to?

Another thing that could cause something similar is if you copied a
slide from slide sorter view and pasted it while in normal "edit" mode.
That would give you a small OLE slide object which could be resized to
look like a regular slide. Those can be ungrouped, though, using
Draw/Ungroup.
