Email from InfoPath / Outlook 2000

I have an InfoPath form that programmatically sends email using
VB.NET. I now have a would be user who only has Outlook 2000. When
the program tries to send the email it gets an error:

"An error occurred while the form was being submitted.
To use this feature, Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 must be set as the
default e-mail program. "


Anybody know of a possible work around, besides getting this user
upgraded to Outlook 2003?
