Email in Outlook very slow to open

I am running XP/Office XP. When I click to open an email
the email hangs for awhile before it opens. This also
happens when choosing an email for the preview pane. How
can this be fixed?

I don't know how to fix your problem, but I am having
exactly the same problem and can't find anything about it
in KB. The preview pane is VERY SLOW to respond when
moving from message to message. It doesn't always happen,
but it is happening more frequently now. Once it starts, I
have to reboot the machine (restarting Outlook doesn't do
it.)I am also running XP/Office XP.
