email link from iexplorer blocked

Outlook blocks attachment sent from IExplorer selecting File | Send | Link
by E-mail...

Is there any way around this problem. I call this a problem since sending
from one Microsoft application to another Microsoft application using the
methods provided by the applications pretty much fails ( I cannot read it ).
The link sent using this method is an attachment with a .url extension. In
Outlook Express ( which this forum appears to also discuss ), there is a way
to view these links. Is there a way in Outlook 2003?
