email problem with outlook 2003

I am using windows xp sp2 and the version of outlook is office outlook 2003
sp2 this is something that has happened over the last month or so, My email
download stops downloading in the middle of its download I cant open any mail
until I restart outlook then it downloads the mail and I can open it
