emailing tasks and setting up alerts

As a beginner I have to apologise for what could be a rubbish
question...

Is there a way to email a task to someone similar to outlook. I'm not
working with a project server running.

secondly - can alerts/reminders be set to warn you of impending tasks
needing to be started...

hope you can help...

Please don't apologize -- that's what this newsgroup is for

MS Project 2000 and 2002 have a file on the Project CD named WGSETUP.EXE
that created the link between Project and Outlook. If you are using
either of those products, search Project Help for "Workgroup message
handler" for details.

We have Project Professional 2003 but not Project Server/Web.....is there
anyway to do this in 2003
