emails from word/excel freeze

I am using Windows ME with Office XP and have all the service packs for
Windows and Office loaded. I am running Norton and have all the updates for
it as well. I can view a document from email; but when I download it locks
up the computer.

There is a conflict between Norton's Office Plug-In and Office
