Emails

For some time now I have been bombarded with emails
supposedly coming from Microsoft letting me know about
update patches, security bulletins, etc. I know that
Microsoft does not send out messages like this and I have
been told it's a virus. But what I don't know is how to
stop them. I've setup a rule to have all such emails sent
to a folder and everyday I get at least 160. I really want
this to end. Does anyone know how to get rid of this virus?

Toni,

THe trouble is, you don't have the virus if you are receiving the e-mails.
Make sure your own AV program is up to date, or visit one fo the free
scanners on the web, and this is about as good as you can do to protect
your own machine. If you want to take action on the e-mails, try and
contact your ISP to see if they can block these e-maisl before you get
them. Otherwise you are doing the best thing by having a rule move these
e-mails, and then deleting them everyday.
