embedded spreadsheet in powerpoint

I have a presentation created a while back with a chart
based on an embedded spreadsheet. I would like to use
the same presentation, but modify some of the numbers in
the embedded spreadsheet.

When I open the chart and go to the data source, I cannot
actually edit the spreadsheet. I can only redefine the
rows/columns the chart is to be created from.

Am I missing something? Shouldn't I be able to modify
some numbers without having to recreate the entire
spreadsheet? I am using Office 2003.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Karen looks like you created a linked embedded object
that is no longer linked to your excel spreadsheet.

If you can locate the spreadsheet and relink it, it
should work fine.

If not, copy the data from the slide into excel and make
a new spreadsheet to embed.
