Hi,
I've got a mysterious problem which I cannot solve. Entourage crashes only when I am offline and start up the program. When I'm online Entourage works like a charm but as soon as I'm offline and I startup Entourage it crashes. My gut-feeling, even though I'm not too technical,is that the crash is caused whenever Entourage tries to send/recieve mail but cannot connect. I have already tried uninstalling Entourage and doing a clean install (which together with restoring mails/accounts,etc took the best part of 6 hours), but no luck. Any suggestions welcome, thanks!!

Here is the error report:

The CoreFoundation is the problem. However, I have no idea what this is or
how to fix this particular problem.

Recently we've seen Crashed Module Name: WebCore. This was from the Safari 4
beta causing the problem. If it were Entourage the blamed module would be
Microsoft Entourage.

These are the steps I would try to solve the problem.

1. download and apply the Apple combo updater. Yes, do this even if you are
up to date. Combo updater refresh all files that could have become
corrupted. It's just good for your files, easy and quick to do and might
solve your problem.

Mac OS X 10.5.6 Combo Update
(For both PowerPC- and Intel-based Macs )
<http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/macosx_updates/macosx1056combou
pdate.html>

2. Testing in a new User will eliminate problems in your User account. Go to
System Preferences --> Create a New User in Accounts. Switch to the New User
by logging out/in or use Fast User Switching. You'll need to enter your
account info and let Entourage sync back up to test. If you see the same
problems in a new user in a new Entourage Identity, it's either your Office
install or the combo didn't fix the problem.

3. Your Office install could be bad. Do a reinstall (see below)

4. Do an "Archive & Install"

Follow these steps to reinstall:

* Launch the Microsoft Autoupdater (MAU).To launch MAU, you can open any
Office application and select "Check for Updates" under Help in the Menu
bar. Once MAU is launched, select "Keep in Dock"
* Quit all Microsoft applications (Easy way: log out/in with Shift key down
to disable any startup items.) Be sure all applications are quit before
running updater. IMPORTANT
* Drag the Microsoft Office 2008 folder to the Trash.
* Empty Trash.
* Reinstall Office 2008 from your original installation disk.
* Restart
* Update to 12.1.0 (if you have a newer DVD you might only need the 12.17)
* Restart (restarting before you launch any app is important!)
* Update to 12.1.7
* Restart

Verify that this file is 2.2.0 after you apply the 12.1.0 updater.

/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/MAU2.0

Let me know what your testing shows.
