envelopes try to print as banners

I have Publisher 2000 and running Windows XP. When I try
to print an envelope it tries to print it as 3 pages. In
the first print screen, in the lower left corner, is a
button that says "Tile Printing Options..." It seems to
think I want to print a banner and not envelope. I had
this program on Windows 98 and never had a problem.
Please help. Thanks in advance.

It would seem that you have your page size at the printer not matching the
page size within Publisher.

Check the sizes are the same and in the same orientations.

Hey Ed,
You know what they say, "Two Eds are better than one!"
It would seem that that would be the case. But it's not.
In fact when I even you the Publisher Wizard and use an
envelope template it still want to print in a banner mode.

I can't get it to print a normal envelope.
Help again!!!!

The Publisher Wizard doesn't set up your printer for you.

Make sure that your printer settings in File > Print Setup > Properties are
set to the width and height of your envelope (if the envelope is going
through the printer lengthways, set the height as the long edge and the
width as the short edge), then set Publisher's page size under File > Page
Setup to Full Page, Lanscape.

Have you tried Xerox support?

This is what Xerox says:
Printing envelopes in Microsoft Publisher

Configure Page Setup.
With Publisher open, go to File and select Page Setup.
In area titled Choose Publication Layout, select Envelopes.
In Choose an Envelope, select the correct envelope size. Then click OK.
Configure the Publisher Print settings.
In the menu bar, go to Tools and select Options.
Click on the Print tab
Place a check mark in the box for Print envelopes to this printer using these
settings.
Set the Orientation to Feed landscape.
Set the Placement to the correct method for your Xerox DocuPrint or Phaser printer.
Then click OK.
Create the envelope and verify that the printer Properties settings found in the
Print dialog box are set correctly for printing envelopes on your model Xerox
printer.
Print the envelope.

Mary,
That was the first thing I did. Everything seemed ok with
the Page Setup. They even had me go to Word and print an
envelope there. It printed fine. But, still had no luck
with Publisher. It still wants to print on three pages
with the wrong orientation.

Thanks again,
Ed
