Hello,
I installed Project 2003 (and Visio 2003) on my PC that is running Office
2003. Now I get Error 25090, which points to an OSE.exe problem. The file is
there. Any clues on how to resolve this? The programs are stuck in mid
installation stage.
Thanks

Hey Mark,

Have look at this article , sounds a bit dicey but then again with
microsoft anything is possible. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/827467

The article does make some sense. With three different Office versions
installed (I also need to have Access 97 for some apps), I did meet some of
the requirements listed. This did not fix the problem. The file (OSE.EXE) was
where it was supposed to be. See my answer to your other post for my solution.
Thank you sir!

Hi,
This is a good article that explains potential issues well. My solution
turned out to be reasonable simple. The file in question (Office Source
Engine OSE.exe), is a service. I opened up services in the MMC, and found the
engine was stopped. My guess is that it never did start. I manually started
the service and was able to start up the two applications and finish the
installations. Everything seems to be behaving. So far so good. Thanks for
your help.
