Is Project 2003 PRO compatible with other Office 2007 Modules

Help!
Previously, I was using Office 2003 + Project 2003 Pro + Visio 2003
Pro installed in that order using Windows XP Pro O/S.
Recently, I installed the Office 2007 modules using Windows XP Pro O/
S. The Office 2007 installation process UNINSTALLED both MS Project
2003 Pro and MS Visio 2003 Pro. (My first question is why since both
Project and Visio were separately installed in my previous
environment???)

So I want to re-install Project and Visio 2003 to run alongside the
Office 2007 modules since the cpst to upgrade for a SOHO operation is
prohibitive. Question; Can I re-install Project and Visio 2003 and are
they compatible with Office 2007?

Thanks for your feedback,
Jim (AKA, LAjames)

Hi Jim,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

I can't speak for Visio or the Pro version of Project 2003 as I have neither
(Project Pro is designed to work with Project Server) as I have no server.
However, Project 2003 I have on my laptop along with Office 2007 without
problem. I suggest you try it and see.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)

You should install any 2003 Office applications before any 2007 Office
applications. If Office 2007 is already installed, go ahead and install
Project 2003) but you may have to do an Office 2007 repair as Project 2003
may over-write some registry entries with Office 2003 values rather than
2007.

I have Project and Office 2003 and Project and Office 2007 installed on the
same PC with no problems.
