error when opening Outlook 2003

Whenever i open the outlook application, immediately an error box pops up
saying microsoft has encountered an problem and must close. It gives me the
opportunity to close and open again, but the same problem occurs again. I
tried using the repair option for all office 2003, but did not help. I am
over seas, and don't have my disk with me, is there a way to fix this by
using the internet, or some other resource?
Thanks
Pat

We need to know the Details. When you get an "Illegal Operation" or
"encountered a problem" message, there's usually a Details button (In WinME
press Alt/D), or a "click here" link to see the error report. When you
click the button/link, it will show a message like: XXXX caused an error in
YYYY and a bunch of register nonsense or it will list the Appname XXXX and
Modname YYYY. The XXXX and YYYY are important to identify the cause and
solution. You can ignore the rest of the message.

Okay, the AppName says outlook.exe and the ModName saus msouplug.dll. Is
there anything else you need?
Thanks

Nope, the key is "msouplug.dll". This file is provided by Norton (Its an
Anti-Spam plug-in) and the error indicates it has become corrupt. You can
eliminate the error by renaming msouplug.dll to msouplug.old or some other
incorrect name, or by going to 'Tools|Options|Other|Advanced Options|Add-in
Manager' and unchecking the Anti-Spam add-in. If a proper fix is available,
Norton/Symantec should be able to help, its one of their files.
