error when trying to view folder list

Outlook 2002. I can view the Outlook Bar but when I try to view the Folder List it just pops up with an error and I have to restart Outlook. Error:
Microsoft Outlook has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

I've tried everything short of uninstalling Outlook. I've deleted the ost file. Anyone have any ideas?
